Our Refund Policy

At IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao, we believe in transparent, fair pricing — with no hidden fees and no complicated refund processes. Here is everything you need to know about how refunds work.

Cancel free up to 48 hours before pickup for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non- refundable. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-7 business days. No refunds for no-shows or unused rental days. Contact us via WhatsApp or email for all cancellation requests.

No Upfront Payment

IslandGo does not charge any payment at the time of booking. All payments are made at pickup in person. This means that in most cases, no refund is necessary — because nothing has been charged in advance.

Security Deposit Refund

A refundable security hold may be placed on your payment card at pickup, depending on the coverage plan you select:

  • Basic Coverage — $750 security hold
  • Medium Coverage — $500 security hold
  • Full Coverage — No security hold required

The security hold is not a charge. It is a temporary hold on your card and is released in full following the safe return of the vehicle in its original condition. Release times depend on your card issuer and typically take 3–7 business days to appear on your statement.

The security hold will not be released, in full or in part, if:

  • The vehicle is returned with damage not covered by your selected plan
  • The vehicle is returned with a lower fuel level than at pickup
  • Outstanding fines or violations are pending

Cancellation Refunds

Since no upfront payment is taken, there is nothing to refund when you cancel before your rental start date. Cancellations made before the rental start date are fully free of charge and no fees apply.

Overpayment or Billing Errors

In the unlikely event of an overpayment or billing error at pickup, please contact us immediately:

We will investigate promptly and process any applicable refund as quickly as possible. Refunds to card typically take 3–7 business days depending on your bank.

Damage & Excess Charges

If damage occurs during the rental period, the amount charged will depend on your selected coverage plan:

  • Basic Coverage — up to $750 excess applies
  • Medium Coverage — up to $500 excess applies
  • Full Coverage — zero excess, no charge applies

Charges for damages are non-refundable once assessed and confirmed.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling charge will apply. This charge is non-refundable.

Traffic Fines & Violations

The renter is solely responsible for any traffic violations, fines, or penalties incurred during the rental period. Charges related to fines are non-refundable.
