Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all rentals made through IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao. By making a reservation — via our website, WhatsApp, or any other channel — you agree to the conditions below.

1. General

By completing a reservation with IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao, the renter confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions set out on this page. These terms apply to all vehicles in our fleet and all rental periods. The terms in effect at the time of booking apply to that reservation.

2. Driver Requirements

To rent a vehicle with IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao, all drivers must meet the following requirements:

– Minimum age: 23 years

– Minimum driving experience: 1 year

– Valid driver’s license must be presented at pickup

– Valid government-issued ID must be presented at pickup

All additional drivers must meet the same requirements and must be registered at the time of booking. A fee of $10 per day applies per additional driver. The maximum number of drivers per vehicle is 2.

3. Reservations & Payments

– Reservations can be made via our website booking form or WhatsApp.

– We accept Visa, Mastercard, and debit cards. Cash and local payments are accepted at pickup.

– Payment is made at pickup unless otherwise agreed in writing.

– No hidden fees – the price shown is the price you pay.

– IslandGo reserves the right to cancel a booking if the renter does not meet the requirements at pickup.

4. Security Deposit

A refundable security hold may be required at pickup depending on the coverage plan selected:

– Basic Coverage – $750 security hold

– Medium Coverage – $500 security hold

– Full Coverage – No security hold required

The hold is placed on your payment card at pickup and released in full following the safe return of the vehicle in its original condition.

5. Insurance & Coverage

Basic third-party liability insurance is included with all rentals. Additional coverage options are available at booking. The renter is responsible for any damage or loss not covered by the selected insurance plan.

6. Vehicle Use

The vehicle must not be used for off-roading, racing, towing, transporting passengers for hire, or any illegal activity. Smoking is not permitted inside the vehicle. Violation of this clause will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement and forfeiture of the security deposit.

7. Fuel Policy

The vehicle is provided with a full tank at pickup. The renter is required to return the vehicle with a full tank. Failure to do so will result in a refueling charge of $3.00 per liter plus a $25 service fee.

8. Delivery & Pickup

IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao offers free vehicle delivery and return collection at:

– Hato International Airport

– Hotels and accommodations across Curaçao

– Free for rentals of 3 days or more. For rentals under 3 days, a $25 delivery fee applies.

Delivery availability will be confirmed at the time of booking.

9. Cancellations

– Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the rental start date are fully free of charge and will be refunded in full.

– Cancellations made within 48 hours of the rental start date are non-refundable.

– For cancellations after the rental start date, please contact us directly via WhatsApp or email. No refunds will be given for unused rental days.

10. Traffic Violations & Fines

The renter is *solely responsible* for any traffic violations, fines, toll charges, or penalties incurred during the rental period. This includes but is not limited to speeding fines and parking violations.

IslandGo will forward any fines received after the rental period to the renter. A $35 administrative fee will be charged per violation to cover processing costs. By renting, you authorize IslandGo to charge this fee and the fine amount to your payment method on file.

11. Vehicle Condition

The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was received, including:

– No new damage to the exterior or interior

– Same fuel level as at pickup

– All original accessories, keys, and documents intact

A joint inspection will be done at pickup and return. Photos are taken and shared with you. Damage beyond the coverage selected will be charged to the renter’s security deposit or payment method based on our repair cost estimate.

12. Personal Belongings

IslandGo Car Rental Curaçao is not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle during or after the rental period. We recommend removing all personal items before returning the vehicle.

Items left behind will be held for 7 days. After 7 days, unclaimed items will be discarded. IslandGo is not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings.
